The
PHWTA is a group of women members who support Philcrest Hills Tennis Club
by promoting camaraderie and good sportsmanship through tennis activities.
The following information may help you become familiar with our organization.
Leagues
- The PHWTA
has a system of daytime leagues where placement is based on ability
and subsequent movement is based on scores. These leagues are indoor
doubles play and are scheduled from 9:30am to 11:00am with a warm up
drill starting at 9:00am
- The PHWTA
Leagues are separate from the leagues offered and organized by the Head
Professional. In order to play PHWTA Leagues you need to:
- Become
a member of the PHWTA by paying yearly dues of $25.00. This may
be left with the staff at the front desk.
- Be
placed in a league level by the Head Pro. This involves contacting
the Head Pro and arranging a time to 'hit' with him.
- As a member
of the PHWTA, you should obtain a PHWTA Directory, which lists its members
and includes the calendar for the year, the Association's by-laws and
the League Rules. This Directory is available at the front desk and
you are invited to review on before joining.
- The cost
of league play is billed to the player per session played. At present,
there are 4 seven-week sessions and the cost is approximately $42.00
(varying according to players).
Membership
Meetings/Luncheons
The
PHWTA holds a minimum of two membership meetings with a luncheon per year.
At these events, time is set aside for social tennis where you get to
meet and play with other members of varying abilities. Additional activities
may be planned for the luncheon such as fashion shows, raffles, door prizes.
League awards are also given at this time.
